We are very proud to be linked with The Ginger Pig, who gave us beef steak for June’s pie and for Yiayia’s stifado served up at the Feisty Feast supper club. We recently shot a photo series of their new cooking class facility at Borough Market in exchange for their support of the Grand Dishes project.
Nowness commissions Grand Dishes to produce and direct a film inspired by Yiayia.
"On the Greek island of Corfu, Anastasia Miari—one of the Grand Dishes directors—follows her yiayia (granny) as she peels, chops, and cooks a dish perfected by the years and her love of natural ingredients. Living in a tiny white-washed house, Miari's 80-year-old grandmother is wholly self-sufficient, planting by the moon's cycle and making her own oil and wine."
Running 10 May - 10 June 2018
The Gallery at Munro House
With the help of Leeds Indie Food, The Gallery and Café 164 have teamed up with Grand Dishes to show a carefully curated selection of images that capture the spirit of the Grand Dishes project in an exhibition setting.
Shot on film with a 1960s Mamiya camera, the photographs featured in the exhibition preserve and protect the memory of these grandmothers at their most relaxed – in their homes, cooking a dish that says something about the life they have lived. With each photograph comes an accompanying recipe and an anecdote in the grandmothers’ own words.

We are proud Polka Pants ambassadors, donning our popping-print chef pants by wonderful Maxine Thompson at all granny cook-offs. We're even taking Polka Pants on a euro tour this summer, delivering each grandmother we cook with a pair of super-comfy polka pants to wear in the kitchen.
